Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP):
Providing low interest financing for energy efficient upgrades, on a per municipality basis in Alberta.

CMHC Eco Programs

CMHC Eco Programs:
Apply for a 25% refund on your CMHC insurance premium for your recently purchased home if you spend up to $20,000 in energy efficient renovations, or purchase a home that meets the prescribed energy efficiency target.

Financing – Up to $40,000 Interest Free!

INSULATION (Attic, Basement, Crawlspace, Etc.)

Through the Greener Homes Loan, homeowners can receive financing for increasing the insulation in their home’s crawl space, basement, ceiling/attic, exposed floors, and/or exterior walls. Increasing insulation will save you money in utility bills by slowing the rate of heat loss.

Please note that all equipment used for insulation must be purchased in Canada, and purchases made online are only eligible if ordered from a Canadian distributor.

Financing also available through CEIP.

AIR SEALING

Having a tight building envelope is one of the key factors to an energy efficient home. In your report you will receive a target to increase the air sealing on your home to qualify for rebates. Typically, air-sealing professionals are hired to help with achieving high levels of air tightness in your home.

Financing is available through the Greener Homes Loan and CEIP.

SPACE & WATER HEATING

Through the Greener Homes Loan, homeowners can receive financing for installing an Air Source or Ground Source Heat Pump on the Greener Homes list of eligible products. Homeowners can also receive financing for installing a heat pump hot water heater on the Greener Homes list of eligible products.

Through CEIP, homeowners can also receive financing for replacing their existing equipment with more efficient equipment such as air source and ground source heat pumps, heat pump hot water heaters, ENERGY STAR High Efficiency Gas Furnaces, ENERGY STAR Gas Storage Water Heaters, ENERGY STAR Gas Tankless Water Heaters, Drain water Heat Recovery systems/HRV, High Efficiency Central Air Conditioners, High Efficiency Gas Boilers, and Smart Thermostats.

DOORS & WINDOWS

By installing brand new high-performance Energy Star certified windows, you can save energy and make your home more comfortable, all while improving the esthetic of your home. Financing is available through the Greener Homes Loan and CEIP for windows and exterior doors.

SOLAR RENEWABLE ENERGY

Financing is available through the Greener Homes Loan and CEIP for installing solar panels to service your home. This renewable energy source can offset your electricity usage, and when paired with battery storage, increase your electricity independence.

CEIP also offers financing for Solar Thermal water heating, Battery Energy Storage, and the cost to replace your roof if deemed necessary for solar panel installation.

You Qualify if You…

Own a detached, semi-detached, row house, or mobile home.
(mobile home on a permanent foundation)
The home must be your primary residence.
Have an energy evaluation both before and after your renovations.
Start upgrades after loan approval.
Provide copies of all receipts for energy upgrades.

How it Works…

Have us perform a Pre-Retrofit evaluation before you begin eligible upgrades.
Provide Greener Homes Loans with quotes & estimates for eligible upgrades.
After loan approval, complete the upgrades you choose.
Have us perform a Post-Retrofit evaluation after you have completed eligible upgrades.
Provide receipts & invoices, and receive loan amount.
