Edmonton’s Home Energy Retrofit Accelorator (HERA) program provides additional rebates for energy efficient upgrades for Edmonton residents, without a set maximum!
The City of Edmonton is offering a rebate for homeonwers, to go towards the cost of installing solar systems on their homes to produce renewable energy. This rebate is stackable with the Greener Homes Grant.
The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) provides low interest financing for energy efficient upgrades, paid out through your property taxes; available on a per municipality basis in Alberta.
The Town of Canmore offers an annual solar incentive rebate program for residents and businesses to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing a rooftop solar photovoltaic system in Canmore. See website for more details!
The St. Albert Home Energy Efficiency Grant (HEEG) provides additional rebates for energy efficient upgrades for St. Albert residents, up to 50% of homeowner investment. Learn more on their website.
CMHC’s Eco Plus program offers a partial premium refund to homeowners who purchase climate friendly housing, or retrofit their newly purchased home to be climate friendly. You can apply for a partial premium refund of 25% if you’re CMHC insured and have an energy efficient home, or renovate your home to meet the prescribed target (Properties with a gigajoules/year rating of at least 20% lower than “A Typical New House”). For those purchasing a home that is already highly efficient, you can book and EnerGuide rating service to prove that your new home meets the prescribed standards. For those purchasing a home to renovate, a pre-evaluation must be done before any upgrades commence, and the updated EnerGuide rating on the post-evaluation (after the retrofits are completed) will be the documentation used to qualify for the premium refund. The Town of Banff offers $750/kW, up to 20kW maximum, for residents and businesses to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing a solar photovoltaic system. See here for more details: Solar Incentive Program | Banff, AB – Official Website.
The town of Banff offers Residential Rebates for various energy efficient products, including active transportation items, appliances, toilets, rain barrels, ENERGY STAR windows and doors, ENERGY STAR furnaces, ENERGY STAR solar hot water heaters, as well as up to 1/3 of the cost of the energy evaluation (max. $500).
